Obsession No. 3
The pants that do it all
I will admit, I purchased this article of clothing with a HIGHLY skeptical mindset. The reason being, nearly every content creator in my feed was wearing them, which on the surface I have absolutely no issue with. I love mutual obsessions and matching with stylish women both on the internet and IRL. My skepticism came from the fact that everyone wearing these had received them as a gift from the brand. My thought was, at the time, how can anyone truly recommend these when they had been received in exchange for content, either directly or indirectly?
Boy was I wrong. Before I dive into the details, let me explain my why. Because, as an intentional shopper (most of the time), there has to be a pretty darn good reason for me to be willing to spend my hard earned coin on a piece of clothing.
I am a mom of two, a three year old and ten month old. When I am not working my corporate 9-5, my hands are full - literally! And that means I need pants that can withstand smeared PB&Js, bubble solution, mineral SPF, and so on. I should also note, my oldest requires me to carry her (plus the baby) from car seat to classroom every morning. I can’t be wearing pants with a waistband thinner than my shoelace. I am looking for utility. Versatility. Ease. Comfort. And, I want to look good!
This is where the Ruti On the Loose pants come in. You’ve seen them, you’ve heard of them. And if this is your first time reading about them, you must not spend as much time on the internet as me. But, I am excited for you. It’s like recommending an amazing show to someone that has never seen it. Your world is about to change! Or, at least your pants selection.
These pants are just perfection. Absolute perfection. They are made from a Nylon and Spandex mix, which makes them resistant to wrinkling, i.e. perfect for traveling, and they wash beautifully. I recently wore them on an eight hour, overnight, transatlantic flight with kids and upon arrival they looked just as good as when I first put them on. The rest of me….not so much. Hence the sunglasses.
Another thing I love about them is that they can be dressed up or down. They are called ‘work pants’ which is a slight stretch. Pun intended. I probably wouldn’t wear them in a business professional situation, but they could work in a casual office setting, and are perfect to WFH in. Here are two real time examples of how I styled them, one more casual and one slightly more elevated.
Most people say to size up in these, but I find them pretty TTS. I am 5’5” and wear an 8P. I could probably go for the standard inseam, but I live in a hot climate and prefer them to sit higher on the ankle.
Thanks for reading! Until next time.

Hello, doesn’t the fact that they are made of nylon make you sweat in them? I’d love to get them but I’m concerned about the sweating possibility.
I was truly skeptical of these myself but I’m so glad I bought them! I have the black and have been debating the brown color too.
